Jonathan Green’s Dracula – Curse of the Vampire is an interactive Gothic horror novel inspired by the works of Bram Stoker. To be published by Snowbooks and featuring illustrations by Martin McKenna (artist for numerous Fighting Fantasy titles, including Howl of the Werewolf, Vault of the Vampire and Revenge of the Vampire), this multi-path gamebook is the sixth title in Green’s ACE Gamebooks series.
In Dracula – Curse of the Vampire, you take on the role of either young solicitor Jonathan Harker, his fiancée Mina Murray, Doctor John Seward, or even as Count Dracula himself – and can interact with the likes of Lucy Westenra, Renfield and Van Helsing!
Backers of the Dracula – Curse of the Vampire Kickstarter will be able to purchase the book in three different formats: eBook (including hyperlinks), Paperback, and a special Limited Edition Collector’s Hardback, which will include artist’s sketches and designer’s notes presented in a bonus chapter. Also, all backers will have their name added to an Acknowledgements section in every edition of the book!
As well as paying for the production of the gamebooks and backer rewards, the initial funding goal will also pay for six full-page illustrations, six small filler images, and 4 playable character portraits, by Martin McKenna. However, the aim is to feature twenty full-page illustrations, hence the need for Stretch Goals to pay for this additional art. As an incentive, backers pledging at the £10 level and above will receive FREE digital downloads if Stretch Goals 2 & 4 are met.
As an extra bonus, everyone who backs the campaign within its first 24 hours to receive a physical gamebook, will also receive a FREE copy of The Grim and Gothic Art of Martin McKenna – an artbook featuring a selection of McKenna’s full-colour and black & white illustrations.
The different pledge levels feature all sorts of exclusive rewards, including: collectible bookmarks, art prints, themed decks of playing cards, signed hardbacks, a coffin book box + wooden stake pencil, and the chance to have yourself immortalised in one of the book’s illustrations.
